Whitelock’s Ale House, Leeds

Leeds, central

Down a ginnel off a pedestrian shopping street in the centre of Leeds is this beautiful reminder that nothing beats glazed tiles and stained glass if you want to do “PUB” properly.

Friendly, seems to be popular with locals and tourists. Good selection of beers. Somewhere you can relax while the world hurries on by.

Areas

Pubs are amazing places. Not all are good, some are bad, some just mediocre.

But when they are good they offer a refuge, a place to meet, a time to enjoy the company of others.

The public house, coaching inn, coffee shop and tavern have been a meeting place for hundreds of years. They have reflected changes in social norms, been a mainstay of our social interactions and given rise to ideas and conversation that has shaped our world. This is not a list of all the places I have had a pint. It is a list of places I have enjoyed a pint.
